Known for its seafood tapas, tiny Cal Pep (5) is somewhat legendary and the daily queues backing out the door stand testament to that. If you’re lucky, you’ll get one of the very few tables, but if not just perch on a stool at the bar and get ready to taste some of the most amazing, authentic dishes in all of Barcelona.
• Dinner
Named a er the enormous incense burner hanging in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, Botafumeiro (6) is
an elegant place to wrap up your time in Barcelona. Fish is sourced from the Catalan and Galician coasts and beautifully presented by waiters in white jackets. You can try the incredible fresh clams and oysters or go for the spider-crab pie – a house delicacy. The wine selection is also as varied as the seafood.
